As a Junior Diesel Trailer Mechanic, you’ll ensure US Xpress' fleet stays in motion — safely and efficiently.

- Perform routine preventative maintenance following USX service guidelines
- Handle minor repairs on brakes, tires, wiring, and lighting systems

- Replace tires, grease mechanical parts, and perform visual inspections
- Maintain productivity and complete tasks within standard repair times
- Work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment

🧰 What US Xpress’Looking For
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical diploma in Diesel Technology preferred (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
- At least 1 year of mechanical experience preferred
- Prior experience in transportation or fleet maintenance is a plus
Certifications & Skills
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to read, write, and follow service documentation
- Required to bring your own set of tools appropriate for the job
- D.O.T. and Brake certifications required (or willingness to obtain)
- OEM online certifications are a strong advantage
- Basic computer skills helpful for service logging and diagnostics
